The Mission of the Jewish Federation of the Desert, as the central communal organization for the Jewish population for the Coachella Valley, is dedicated to promoting the values and quality of Jewish life. The Federation is further committed to the unity of the Jewish people worldwide, the strengthening of the state of Israel, and the helping of Jews in need wherever they reside.

During JFNA’s Heart to Heart mission in Israel this week, more than 150 women from across North America visited a women’s empowerment project of the Jewish Agency for Israel in Beit Shemesh, a sister city of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. As part of its Partnership2Gether initiative, the Jewish Agency, supported by Jewish Federations, offers professional mentoring and instruction to help women with Persian, Russian, Yemenite, Kurdish, Iraqi and Moroccan backgrounds operate catering businesses that serve the tourism industry.
