The Mission of the Jewish Federation of the Desert, as the central communal organization for the Jewish population for the Coachella Valley, is dedicated to promoting the values and quality of Jewish life. It is committed to fostering a continuity of Jewish life for future generations. The Federation is further committed to the unity of the Jewish people worldwide, the strengthening of the state of Israel, and the helping of Jews in need wherever they reside.

JDC Supports the Greek-Jewish Community
May 11, 2012

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), which is supported by Jewish Federations, has committed $330,000 for rent subsidies, food and scholarships in Athens, Greece, where the Jewish community has been severely affected by the country’s ongoing financial crisis.
JFNA’s National Young Leadership Cabinet last week visited Greece to learn about the critical work being done by JDC and other Jewish Federation partner agencies to help sustain the Greek Jewish community.

Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Palm Springs and Desert Area is a voluntary association of women who are committed to the Jewish values of Tzedakah (justice) and Tikun Olam (repairing the world).  Comprised of both full time residents and “snowbirds” we provide a link between the Jewish women of the Coachella Valley and the Jewish people around the world.

Create a Legacy...Consider an Endowment

Endowments ensure the future of our Jewish community and guarantee that our Federation will always be there for those Jews who need a helping hand. You need only to have a vision and make a commitment at the level you are comfortable with for the future of our Jewish Federation and our community. Please contact Bruce Landgarten, CEO at (760) 324-4737 or bruce.landgarten@jfedps.org. Create a Jewish legacy.
